Bio
Nicole Dueffert brings her own brand of “Minnesota nice” to Truth Initiative. She oversees the day-to-day operations of the Communications and Public Affairs team and provides vision, leadership, and strategy to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Communications Officer, and other senior staff. As Senior Vice President, Dueffert fosters strategic partnerships and leads initiatives to amplify Truth Initiative's impact through innovative communication strategies. She oversees editorial services and digital content, external and crisis communications, social media platforms and analytics, and organizational branding.
Dueffert has extensive experience on Capitol Hill, in the private sector, and at non-profits including the Lupus Foundation of America, The Pew Charitable Trusts, and Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. She has a successful track record working with elected officials, policy experts, and celebrity spokespeople – as well as corporate and foundation partners – on national marketing and education campaigns.
While at Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, Dueffert helped develop research-based messages and strategies for media and grassroots advocacy that led to passage of the landmark law that gave the Food and Drug Administration regulatory authority over tobacco products.
