New research affirms need for FDA to regulate online e-cigarette ads
Teens most drawn to e-cigarettes by online ads
From Reuters
While many forms of e-cigarette advertising increase the odds that teens will try the devices, a new U.S. study suggests that this generation of digital natives is most enticed by promotions they see online.
Our Take
More than 8 of 10 youth and young adults saw e-cigarette advertising in 2015. With studies increasingly showing that exposure to those ads is associated with curiosity and usage, it is urgent that the FDA begin regulating how, when and where e-cigarettes are marketed to prevent youth and young adult exposure.
